Apple's wired EarPods have allegedly been updated with USB-C and are already in mass production, according to leaker ShrimpApplePro.
In a tweet describing how MFi for USB-C might work, the leaker says:
Theoretically the same way MFI Lightning works, just now is USB-C. We rarely see it cuz Lightning has been here for a while and it has been bypassed.
Also USB-C MFI cables and Earpods are in mass production for a while is the best proof that it's happening.
Despite the popularity of AirPods, Apple is still selling EarPods with both a Lightning connector and a 3.5mm connector. Although they retail at $29, you can get EarPods on Amazon for $17.97.
It's possible that EarPods with USB-C will debut around the same time as the iPhone 15 with USB-C, likely September.
