Apple has begun testing new Mac models ahead of its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June, reports Bloomberg.
Developer logs indicate that the company is testing the new machines with third-party apps from the App Store, and it appears that one of the models being tested is the rumored 15-inch MacBook Air.
The test logs indicate Apple is readying a laptop with processor specifications similar to current models but with a larger, higher-resolution display. This model is likely to be the 15-inch MacBook Air that Apple has been planning to introduce this year.
Similar to the current M2 MacBook Air, the chip in the new laptop has eight CPU cores (four high performance, four efficiency), ten graphics cores, and eight gigabytes of memory. Codenamed "Mac 15,3", its resolution is the same as the 14-inch MacBook Pro, meaning it would be slightly less sharp due to the bigger display.
Notably, the Macs in testing are running macOS 14, a new version of the company's operating system that will likely be unveiled at WWDC. Besides the 15-inch MacBook Air, Apple is also working on an update to the 13-inch MacBook Air, 24-inch iMac, and entry-level 13-inch MacBook Pro.
Bloomberg also predicts that Apple will refresh the 14-inch and 16-inch Macbook Pros in the first half of 2024 with higher end M3 chips.
