Apple has pushed back the launch of under display Face ID on iPhone to 2025 or later, according to Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC).
Under panel Face ID is now expected to be pushed at least a year to 2025 or later due to sensor issues.
Young didn't elaborate on what these sensors issues were; however, we'll let you know if any more information surfaces.
Notably, another report today from yeux1122 indicates that Apple is also still working on under-display Touch ID. That technology is also predicted to arrive in 2-3 years with some new features.

New system that combines short wave infrared + optical system, etc. 12 related patents have already been obtained
● For example, what is different from existing fingerprint recognition sensors and solutions is that it is possible to identify the user's vein pattern,
● It is possible to measure the user's blood oxygen saturation and pulse rate.
● It also shows fast situational recognition rate by determining whether the user is wearing gloves and whether the user's fingers are wet or dry.

If Apple is able to introduce new features with under-display Touch ID, that would give the company more reason to keep the technology around. Health features drive Apple Watch sales but they could also become an important reason to choose iPhone.
