Apple Reveals iOS 16 Adoption at 72%, iPadOS 16 Adoption at 50% [Chart]

Apple has revealed that 72% of iPhones are running iOS 16 and 50% of iPads are running iPadOS 16. This is the first update the company has provided on iOS 16 adoption.

As of February 14, 2023, 72% of iPhone users are on iOS 16, 20% are on iOS 15, and 8% are using an earlier version. That number jumps to 81% for devices introduced in the last four years.

For iPad, 50% of users are on iPadOS 16, 37% are on iPadOS 15, and 13% are on an earlier version. That jumps to 54% for devices introduced in the last four years.


Apple released iOS 16.3.1 and iPadOS 16.3.1 this week. Developers are still waiting for the iOS 16.4 beta which is expected to arrive soon.
