An early benchmark for Apple's just announced M2 Pro Mac mini has surfaced in the Geekbench 5 browser.
Apple introduced a 'Pro' chip to the Mac mini for the first time with this model, making the compact desktop an attractive option for users who need a bit more power.
According to Geekbench, the 2023 Mac mini with an M2 Pro chip (12-core CPU) and 16GB of RAM received a single-core score of 1952 and a multi-core score of 15013. Compare that to the M1 Mac mini at a single-core score of 1715 and a multi-core score of 7442.
The 2023 Mac mini with M2 chip (8-core CPU) and 8GB of RAM received a single-core score of 1951 and a multi-core score of 9003.
Notably, the M2 Pro Mac mini scored higher than the M1 Max Mac Studio which has a multi-core score of 12336.
