1Password Launches Interactive Demo and Walkthrough of Passkeys

1Password has launched an interactive demo and walkthrough of the new Passkeys feature coming next year. This feature will allow users to log in to services without using a traditional password.

Now on the board of the FIDO Alliance, 1Password is working with Apple, Microsoft, Google, and other tech companies to build out a universal password-free sign-in experience. Passkeys is an important step on this path.

It may take time for your favorite websites and services to implement support for passkeys, but we want you to get a glimpse now. We’ll be rolling this functionality out to every 1Password customer in early 2023, but in the meantime we’re thrilled to unveil a live, interactive demo and walkthrough of passkeys in 1Password!

Passkeys let you sign in to apps and websites without a password. They’re digital credentials that are stored on your devices, and you access them using biometrics. This makes them convenient and practical while still being highly secure. Using a passkey is similar to unlocking your iPhone using Face ID or Touch ID. 1Password will bring full support for passkeys to the browser extension and desktop apps in early 2023, with mobile support to follow. Apple has already introduced support for Passkeys in iOS 16 through iCloud Keychain.

You can try out the interactive demo of Passkeys at the link below. You can also sign up for early access to the Passkeys update or get a free trial of 1Password if you don't already have a subscription.
