With iOS 16 or later, you can once again show battery percentage in your iPhone status bar!
Apple removed this feature with the release of iPhones with Face ID back in 2018, requiring a visit to Control Center to check iPhone battery percentage. Now, it's possible to display battery percentage in the status bar, making it easy to determine exactly how much battery life is remaining from the home screen or while using an app.
Here's how...
Tap to launch the Settings app from your Springboard.
Tap Battery from the Settings menu, then toggle the Battery Percentage switch to the ON position.
The battery percentage will appear within the battery icon at the top right corner of your screen.
As of iOS 16, the battery percentage feature works on all iPhone models except the iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 12 mini, and iPhone 13 mini. iOS 16.1 is expected to bring the battery percentage icon to these models as well.
When you use Low Power Mode, the battery percentage will always appear in the status bar. Low Power Mode limits background activity and optimizes device performance for essential tasks. By enabling this mode you can increase the life of your battery by several hours.
Another quick way to check battery percentage on your iPhone is to add the Batteries widget to your device's Lock Screen, Home Screen, or Today View.
