Apple has significantly increased the price of the iPhone 13 in Japan, reports Nikkei Asia.
The iPhone 13 model previously started at 98,800 yen ($730) including tax. It now costs 117,800 yen, an increase of 19%. The iPhone SE now starts at 62,800 yen, 5000 more than before.
The price revisions cover a wide range of Apple products, although they were not applied to Mac computers, prices for which were revised in June. The price of iPad tablets rose 25% to 49,800 yen. Apple Watch models are also more expensive.
The change is likely a result of the yen weakening sharply against the U.S. dollar. The dollar is up around 18% against yen year-to-date.
During Apple's last earnings call, CFO Luca Maestri warned that exchange rates had become an issue and said the company expected overseas revenue to fall in dollar terms during the next quarter.
