Apple will likely launch a new 13.3-inch OLED MacBook in 2024, according to a report from Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC).
It is looking increasingly likely that Apple will launch a 13.3" OLED notebook in 2024 in addition to the 11" OLED and 12.9" iPad Pros. It is expected to be a MacBook Air, but could potentially become a MacBook, MacBook Pro or new category.
Back in March, often reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that OLED would arrive to the MacBook in 2025 at the earliest. This was based on a successful rollout of OLED to the 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro in 2024.
Currently, the 12.9-inch iPad Pro features a mini-LED display with a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, SDR brightness of 600 nits max, XDR brightness of 1000 nits max full screen, and 1600 nits peak (HDR content only). Apple also offers a mini-LED display on its 14-inch MacBook Pro and 16-inch MacBook Pro.
