Apple has discontinued its popular 27-inch iMac following the launch of the new Mac Studio and Studio Display.
The 27-inch iMac was one of the final Intel-based computers still in Apple's lineup. We were hoping to see it replaced with an Apple Silicon version; however, at least for now, users who want a 27-inch monitor will likely pair the new Studio Display with an M1 Max or M1 Ultra Mac Studio. This comes in at a much higher starting price. The 5K 27-inch iMac started at $1799; whereas, the Mac Studio plus Studio Display combination starts at $3598. You could also combine the Studio Display with the less powerful M1 Mac mini. That would start at $2298.
Do you think Apple still needs a 27-inch iMac in its lineup or is the 24-inch M1 iMac good enough? Let us know in the comments!
