These are instructions on how to turn on iPhone sleep mode.
Sleep lets you schedule times for going to bed, waking up, and unwinding. Once you've set a sleep schedule, Sleep Focus filters out notifications and phone calls, and tells others you're not available. A simplified Sleep Focus screen will replace the Lock Screen during this time.
You can also schedule Wind Down to begin before your bedtime. Using Wind Down shortcuts you can easily launch activities you perform before bed. For example, listening to music or reading a book.
Sleep will also wake you up with an alarm in the morning based on your schedule.
Take a look at the how to video below or follow the step by step tutorial to enable sleep mode.
Tap to launch Apple's Health app from your Springboard, then select the Browse tab at the bottom of the screen.
Choose Sleep from the list of health categories, then tap the large Get Started button.
To begin the setup process, press Next.
Apple will ask you to set a Sleep Goal. Choose how many hours of sleep you'd like to get per night, then press Next.
You can now set a bedtime and wake up schedule by dragging the slider to set your preferred times. Tap to select or deselect different days of the week, then press the Add button at the top right to continue.
To add an additional schedule for different days, press the "Add a Schedule for Other Days" button. Set the applicable days and preferred bedtime and wake up times, then press Add.
Review the schedules to make sure everything looks correct, then tap Next.
Apple will offer to simplify your lock screen and turn on sleep focus at your scheduled bedtime, press "Enable Sleep Screen" to turn on this feature, or tap Skip to continue.
If you would like to start the sleep screen early to "Wind Down", set how many minutes before bedtime you'd like it to appear, then press Enable Wind Down. Otherwise, tap Skip.
To add apps and shortcuts to your homescreen during Wind Down, press Set Up Shortcuts. Here you can choose from shortcuts that make it easier to play relaxing music, enjoy a podcast, read a book, and more. If you don't want to enable Window Down shortcuts, tap Next or Skip to continue.
If you have an Apple Watch you can track how long you sleep and wake up with an alarm on your wrist. To enable Apple Watch sleep tracking, press Enable. Otherwise, tap Skip.
Finally, Apple will show you a summary of your setup. You can change these settings at any time using the Health app. Tap Done to finish.
Now that you've enabled sleep features in the Health app, they will automatically launch on schedule. With iPhone sleep mode enabled your lock screen and home screen will indicate when Sleep Focus is active. You can tap the bed icon to change focus to another mode like personal, work, or do not disturb. Hopefully, Apple's new sleep tracking feature helps you establish some better sleep habits.
