These are instructions on how to get SMS text messages on your Mac or iPad.
You can set up your iPhone so that SMS and MMS messages can be sent and received on other devices. Once set up, when you receive an SMS message, it will appear on both your iPhone and your Mac or iPad. When you send a message to someone who doesn't have an iPhone, it will be sent as an SMS. This is accomplished using the Text Message Forwarding feature.
Before you begin, make sure all of your devices are signed into iMessage with the same Apple ID account. You'll also need to be running iOS 8.1 or later.
Tap to launch Settings from your Springboard.
Choose Messages from the settings menu then tap Text Message Forwarding.
You'll be shown a list of devices signed into your Apple ID. Use the toggle switches to enable text message forwarding to your other devices.
You can now use the Messages app on your Mac or iPad to send and receive SMS text messages!
● The Messages app shows SMS messages in green and iMessages in blue.
