Instagram Says There Aren't Enough iPad Users to Prioritize Dedicated App

Head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri, has addressed why the company has not released an app for the iPad yet.
Yesterday YouTuber Marques Brownlee tweeted,
"The year is 2022 and there's still no proper Instagram app for iPad"
In response, Mosseri said,
"Yup, we get this one a lot. It's still just not a big enough group of people to be a priority. Hoping to get to it at some point, but right now we're very heads down on other things."
"Yeah, there's something there. I call these "finally features." Things like supporting dark mode, scheduled posts, an iPad app, deleting one photo from a carousel, etc."
The statement is a bit difficult to understand given how easy it is to make an iPad version of an iPhone app. Even just a responsive design that takes up the full iPad screen would be appreciated by those on iPadOS.
Nevertheless, it doesn't appear we are getting an iPad app for Instagram any time soon.
