Early benchmarks of Samsung's new Galaxy S22 lineup show the smartphones outpace their Android rivals but are no match for the A15 found in the iPhone 13.

PCMag tested the Galaxy S22 Ultra, Galaxy S22+, Galaxy S21 Ultra, Pixel 6, and iPhone 13 Pro Max using Geekbench 5, PCMark Work 3.0, GFXBench 5, and Basemark Web.

Here's the Geekbench 5 results...

Samsung S22 Ultra:
● Single-Core: 1232
● Multi-Core: 3433
● Machine Learning: 448

iPhone 13 Pro Max:
● Single-Core: 1735
● Multi-Core: 4647
● Machine Learning: 948

As you can see, the iPhone 13 Pro Max significantly outperformed the flagship Galaxy S22 Ultra. The numbers are even further apart when comparing Basemark Web scores. The iPhone 13 Pro Max over doubled all other models tested with a score of 1139 vs the S22+ at 578.

Running in FHD the Galaxy S22 Ultra was able to get a slightly better frames per second score than the iPhone 13 Pro Max in GFXBench 5 testing. It scored 60 fps versus 54 fps for the iPhone. However, in WQHD mode, the Galaxy S22 Ultra only reached 35 fps.
