Apple has accidentally leaked references to a new 'realityOS' that will run its rumored AR/VR headset.
Observant developers spotted the references in open source code Apple pushed to GitHub and in App Store upload logs.
Steve Troughton-Smith notes that "This at least confirms it 1) has its own OS & binaries, and 2) has a realityOS Simulator"
There have been reports suggesting that Apple could unveil its AR/VR headset as early as WWDC 2022 with shipping set for 2023. However, overheating issues could delay the unveiling.
Apple's headset is rumored to feature three displays including two Micro OLED displays and one AMOLED panel. Other predictions include over a dozen cameras, eye tracking, iris recognition, and a cost of around $3000.
