Apple is planning to launch three new Apple Watch models next year, including a new Apple Watch Series 8, a second generation Apple Watch SE, and a new 'extreme sports' model, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
The new Apple Watch in 2H22 includes Apple Watch 8, the new Apple Watch SE, and the extreme sports version. Luxshare-ICT is the NPI supplier for Apple Watch 8 and the extreme sports versions.
This lines up with a previous report from Bloomberg:
Sometimes dubbed the “Explorer Edition” inside Apple, the product would have the same functionality as a standard Apple Watch but with extra impact-resistance and protection in the vein of Casio’s G-Shock watches.
It's possible the Apple Watch could be made tougher with a rubberized exterior.
Currently, you can purchase the Apple Watch Series 7 starting at $379 ($20 off) and the Apple Watch SE starting at $239.99 ($39.01 off).
