Apple has released beta AirPods Pro firmware to developers for the first time.
AirPods Pro beta firmware for Apple Developer Program members enables development of features on iOS and macOS for AirPods. It also enables new AirPods Pro features, including Ambient Noise Reduction, and FaceTime spatial audio.
Here's how developers can install the beta...
Prerequisites:
• An iPhone running iOS 15 beta software • A Mac running Xcode 13 beta software
• A set of AirPods Pro (fully charged)
Step 1 - Install the AirPods Pro Seed (2021) profile on your iPhone.
a. Download the iOSAirPodsProSeed.mobileconfig configuration profile.
b. On your iOS device: Download the configuration profile, then follow the installation instructions.
Or, on your Mac or PC: Save the file to your hard disk, then email it to an account on your iPhone. Tap the configuration profile in Mail and follow the installation instructions.
Step 2 - Pair your AirPods Pro with your iPhone.
a. Verify that your AirPods Pro are connected to your iPhone.
Step 3 - Enable your AirPods Pro to receive beta software.
a. Connect your iPhone to your Mac.
b. Launch Xcode 13 beta on your Mac.
c. On your iPhone, go to Settings > Developer, then choose Prerelease Beta Firmware.
d. Find your AirPods Pro in the list of paired devices, then tap to turn on automatic beta software updates.
e. Read and follow the onscreen instructions for receiving beta software updates. Please be patient; it can take up to 24 hours to receive and install these updates.
Known issues
Custom Transparency mode, including the new Conversation Boost feature, is not available in AirPods Pro beta 1. (80553512)
