Apple is planning to unveil a new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro at WWDC, according to WedBush analyst Daniel Ives.

In a note to investors seen by MacRumors, Ives says alongside the normally expected announcement of new versions of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS, Apple is planning a "few surprises," including the announcement of the new MacBook Pros. The analyst, who has made predictions regarding event announcements in the past, says the M1 Apple silicon chip will power the new MacBook Pros; however, that's unlikely to be the case.

It's believed that Apple could debut an M1X processor in the new MacBook Pro which offers more thunderbolt channels, cpu cores, gpu cores, multiple monitor support, and more. Another report from claims that the processor will have 10-cores and launch this summer.

The next generation MacBook Pro is also expected to get a flatter design with reduced bezels, a 1080p webcam, SD card reader, three thunderbolt USB-C ports, MagSafe, and HDMI. It could also gain a mini-LED display, similar to the new 12.9-inch iPad Pro.

Ives isn't alone in his prediction. Leaker Jon Prosser has also 'confirmed' a new MacBook Pro is coming at WWDC 2021. Please download the iClarified app or follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and RSS for coverage of the event.
