The new Apple TV 4K has gained some new features in addition to the more powerful A12 Bionic processor.
According to tech specs for the streaming device, the new Apple TV 4K now features support for HDMI 2.1 up from HDMI 2.0a and HDR10 (Main 10 profile) up to 2160p, 60 fps. It also gains support for 802.11ax Wi-Fi 6 with MIMO; whereas, the previous version only supported 802.11ac Wi-Fi with MIMO.
The new model also supports Thread, a low-power wireless mesh networking protocol based on the universally supported Internet Protocol (IP). Thread makes it possible to reliably connect hundreds of HomeKit smart products.
The refreshed Siri Remote gets support for Bluetooth 5 versus Bluetooth 4. It also lets you control your TV or receiver via IR or CEC.
