Images of a first generation iPad prototype with a dual dock design have surfaced on Twitter.
The photos were shared by Giulio Zompetti who says that initially Apple planned to have two docking ports on the iPad. The second port was situated on the left side of the device. It could have allowed for landscape docking and perhaps the use of additional accessories.
Zompetti notes that concurrent charging was apparently supported; however, the second port was removed in a later DVT stage.
