iOS 14.5 beta 1 is prompting users to set a default music service for Siri. The new feature was spotted by reddit user matejamm1.
Siri asking which music service to use. Afterwards, it used my selection by default, without specifying “on Deezer” each time, despite it being a 3rd party app and me having Apple Music. [iOS 14.5 PB1]
We've been able to verify the feature is present in the developer beta of iOS 14.5. Currently, if you ask Siri to "play a song by a random artist" it uses your preferred service; however, if you say "play some music" it still defaults to Apple Music. The feature is buggy but we expect improvements in future betas.
Other new features in iOS 14.5 beta include Face ID with face masks when wearing an Apple Watch, Apple Fitness+ support for AirPlay, and more.
