Apple has announced that a future macOS update will fix support for Ultrawide and Super-Ultrawide displays on its M1 Macs.

In a support document, the company confirmed that users of ultrawide displays may not see their display's resolution and announced the upcoming fix.

If you connect an ultrawide or super-ultrawide monitor to your Mac with Apple M1 chip, some resolutions supported by your display may not be available. Apple is aware of this issue and resolution is planned for a future macOS update.

To see the additional resolutions for your external display, choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, click Displays, then press and hold the Option key while you click Scaled.

Apple's new M1 Macs can be ordered here:
13-inch MacBook Air with M1 Chip
13-inch MacBook Pro with M1 Chip
Mac mini with M1 Chip
