Plugable has announced a new TBT3-UDC3 Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C docking station with 100w charging.
The TBT3-UDC3 solves two problems common with modern laptops: power (and lots of it) and connectivity. The power problem is solved with 100W Power Delivery (96W Certified), making it one of only a few options that can charge a powerhouse like the MacBook Pro 16” in a speedy 110 minutes. The TBT3-UDC3 complies with the USB-C Power Delivery standard to ensure the optimal charge for your laptop is negotiated. This means your battery stays charged no matter how taxing your workload and you don’t have to worry about overcharging.
Connectivity:
On connections, the TBT3-UDC3 offers a thoughtful array of ports. 40Gbps bandwidth lets you extend dual 4K 60Hz displays through 1x HDMI and 1x DisplayPort with Thunderbolt 3 systems. USB-C systems can extend a single display at 4K 30Hz, or dual 1080p 60Hz displays. Users can also connect to two HDMI displays with the included active DisplayPort to HDMI adapter. The TBT3-UDC3 also provides ports for peripherals. The two USB-C (10Gbps) ports let you transfer large files quickly, so even editing 4K video won’t slow things down. Three USB 3.0 ports mean your legacy peripherals won’t be left out. And a combination audio jack, Gigabit Ethernet connection, and 100W charging let you stream, listen, talk, and watch on a full battery. It’s worth noting that Apple M1 powered Macbooks will only support one 4K 60Hz display. Learn more about Apple M1 screen limitations and how to get around them.
The Plugable TBT3-UDC3 is available now for $219 with a launch coupon of $20 off at the link below.
