Apple new $549 AirPods Max over-ear headphones don't come with a power adapter or an audio cable.
The move continues a trend the company started with its new 5G iPhone 12 models. Customers will be left to purchase a charger on their own or use one they already have.
Since the AirPods Max use a Lightning connector, if you want to connect the headphones to a standard audio port you'll need to purchase a Lightning to 3.5mm audio cable which Apple sells for $35. Add that to the $19 20W power adapter and the full cost of your AirPods Max comes to $603+tax.
