Apple may add 5G with mmWave support to its next generation high-end iPads, according to a new report from DigiTimes.

The site says Apple continues to develop its own mmWave AiP (antenna in package) modules for the iPhone 13. Additionally, it's likely moving forward with in-house development of RF front-end modules (RF-FEM).

DigiTimes believes that this will result in Apple equipping the its next iPad Pro with mmWave 5G.

The self-sufficiency in design and development of AiP modules also means that Apple's next-generation high-end ‌iPad‌ products to be released in 2021 may also come with mmWave technology, said the sources.

Apple is also rumored to be debuting the use of mini-LED displays in its next generation iPad Pros. These displays will offer thinner and lighter product design, good wide color gamut performance, high contrast and HDR, as well as the ability to dim specific screen areas.
