Looks like there’s an unadvertised (and currently unavailable?) 128GB version of the M1 MacBook Air priced at $799. Found on the education price list.

Apple's retail price on the 256GB M1 MacBook Air is $999. For education, that price is reduced to $899. For many applications, 128GB of storage is sufficient and $799 will likely be an attractive price point for institutions.
