The Apple HomePod Smart Speaker Has Been Jailbroken

The Apple HomePod smart speaker has been jailbroken using checkra1n.

The achievement was announced by Twitter user @_L1ngL1ng:

Huge shoutout for @_L1ngL1ng_ who made this possible, I only added 2 lines of code to make checkra1n accept it :-)

A jailbreak allows applications not permitted by Apple to be run. For example, a third party music service, a different assistant, etc. No word yet on when/if this HomePod jailbreak will be released to the public.
