Apple's recently announced special event on September 15th may be focused on Apple Watch and iPad, not iPhone, according to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman.

Yesterday, leaker Jon Prosser predicted that Apple would announce a new iPad and Apple Watch via press release this morning. Contradicting that, Gurman said Apple would announce an iPhone/Apple Watch event today.

This morning Apple announced a virtual event with the tagline "Time Flies". In a tweet, Gurman indicated that he now believes the event will not be used to unveil the new iPhone.

"I am told Apple won’t announce the iPhone until October. This is for the iPad and Apple Watch in all likelihood."

The Apple Watch Series 6 is said to feature an S6 chip, longer battery life, sleep tracking, mental health abnormalities detection, and a blood oxygen sensor. Apple is also said to be working on a replacement for the Apple Watch Series 3 that will compete with fitness devices such as those from Fitbit. Leaker l0vetodream recently hinted that this could be an S5 without ECG.

Additionally, we've seen leaks that suggest a new iPad Air is on the way with an edge-to-edge screen and Touch ID that's embedded into the power button.

Other devices in development include over-ear headphones, a smaller HomePod that will bring a lower price point, an AirTag tracking accessory, and a new Mac with custom Apple Silicon.
