In a video message posted to Twitter, Tim Cook announced that Apple has begun production of custom designed face shields to help medical professionals in their fight against the coronavirus outbreak.
The company has also managed to obtain 20 million face masks for medical workers, an increase over the previously announced 10 million.
Apple is dedicated to supporting the worldwide response to COVID-19. We’ve now sourced over 20M masks through our supply chain. Our design, engineering, operations and packaging teams are also working with suppliers to design, produce and ship face shields for medical workers.
