Apple will announce the 'iPhone 9' on April 15th and ship the device for release on April 22nd, according to a new report from leaker Jon Prosser.
"Per an internal meeting yesterday, Apple is now preparing for an April release."
Prosser notes that the April 15th and April 22nd dates are tentative give that "we're in the middle of a pandemic". He also says that to help with the launch, Apple is shipping iMacs to some retail employees who will offer sales and tech support to customers online.
Best Buy and other retailers have allegedly begun to receive case inventory for the new smartphone. It will purportedly have a 4.7-inch display and lower price point which may be attractive to buyers given the current state of the economy.
