New 2019 Mac Pro Benchmarks [Chart]

Geekbench has published benchmarks for the new 2019 Mac Pro. The new desktop was just released last week at a starting price of $5999.

There are five configuration options that all use Intel Xeon W processors. Those are 3.5GHz 8-core, 3.3GHz 12-core, 3.2GHz 16-core, 2.7GHz 24-core, and 2.5GHz 28-core.

The benchmarks indicate that when compared to other Apple devices the new Mac Pro does not perform well in single-core performance. All four available models were beat by the Mac mini.

Current single-core scores are as follows:
● Mac Pro (Late 2019) Intel Xeon W-3245 @ 3.2 GHz (16 cores) - 1107
● Mac Pro (Late 2019) Intel Xeon W-3265M @ 2.7 GHz (24 cores) - 1096
● Mac Pro (Late 2019) Intel Xeon W-3235 @ 3.3 GHz (12 cores) - 1095
● Mac Pro (Late 2019) Intel Xeon W-3223 @ 3.5 GHz (8 cores) - 1002

Compare those to the 8-core 3.6GHz 27-inch iMac at 1252 or the 8-core 2.4GHz 16-inch MacBook Pro at 1125.




The Mac Pro starts to shine when looking at multi-core scores:
● Mac Pro (Late 2019) Intel Xeon W-3265M @ 2.7 GHz (24 cores) - 17733
● Mac Pro (Late 2019) Intel Xeon W-3245 @ 3.2 GHz (16 cores) - 14451
● Mac Pro (Late 2019) Intel Xeon W-3235 @ 3.3 GHz (12 cores) - 11646
● Mac Pro (Late 2019) Intel Xeon W-3223 @ 3.5 GHz (8 cores) - 7566

Compare that to the 2017 2.3GHz 18-core iMac Pro at 13194 and the previous generation 2013 2.7GHz 12-core Mac Pro at 7079.
