The iPhone 11 Pro was knocked out of a recent Blind Smartphone Camera Test in the very first round. The test, conducted by YouTuber Marques Brownlee, compares photos taken by various cameras in different lighting situations.
Around four million votes were cast on Twitter and Instagram to determine the winner. In total, sixteen different smartphones were compared. The bracket was narrowed down to the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ and the Samsung Galaxy S10e, with the Note 10+ taking first place.
As is often the case with these types of comparisons, participants typically voted for the image that was brightest and most in focus, disregarding characteristics that truly make a better photo such as depth of field, color accuracy, detail, and dynamic range.
The iPhone 11 Pro was knocked out in the first round because it struggled with white balance and exposure in that specific scene.
