Case Lets Any Fingerprint Unlock a Samsung Galaxy S10 Smartphone [Report]

Placing a £2.70 screen protector case on the Samsung Galaxy S10 lets any fingerprint unlock the device, reports BBC and The Sun.

Lisa Neilson, from Castleford, West Yorks, bought a case from eBay to prevent damage to her S10 display. To her surprise, after applying the protector, any fingerprint would unlock the device.

“Anyone can access it and could get into the financial apps and transfer funds,” said Neilson.

The issue appears to have been confirmed by Samsung who told BBC it is "aware of the case of S10's malfunctioning fingerprint recognition and will soon issue a software patch".

We'd advise Samsung users to disable fingerprint authentication until the software update is becomes available. Apparently, this issue also affects the Note10.
