Apple's next generation iPhones will get new features including a multi-angle Face ID sensor, shatter resistant glass, significantly upgraded video recording, and more, reports Bloomberg.

The site is out with an article today that summarizes their expectations for Apple's fall press event. Many of the updates mentioned have already been reported; however, there are some new tidbits as well.

For the iPhone, Apple is expected to unveil three new models, with the successor to the XS having a 'Pro' moniker. The biggest new feature will be the triple-lens camera system which has ultra-wide-angle sensor for capturing photos and video. The system will take three images at the same time and use AI to correct the combined photo. This will reportedly allow users to reframe their photos after they've been taken. Images will be higher resolution, rivaling some point and shoot cameras. The camera will also perform better in low light.

The 'Pro' models will purportedly gain significantly upgraded video recording capabilities including a feature that lets users apply effects, alter colors, reframe, and crop as video is being recorded live.

The next generation iPhone is also expected to feature two-way wireless charging, allowing users to charge AirPods with iPhone. This is similar to Samsung's Wireless Powershare feature.

Design-wise, the new iPhones will look nearly identical to current models from the front; however, there may be new colors on the back that have a matte finish. Bloomberg says the new models should hold up better if dropped due to new 'shatter-resistance technology'.

Other improvements include a new multi-angle Face ID sensor that captures a wider field of view and dramatically enhanced water resistance letting you submerge the iPhone for far longer than 30-minutes. Apple is expected to replace 3D Touch with Haptic Touch for all models, like it did on the iPhone XR last year.

The iPhone XR will get a second back camera for optical zoom and enhanced portrait mode. It's said there will be a new green color option for the XR.

All of the new iPhones will get faster A13 processors that use a new component, known as the 'AMX' or 'Matrix' co-processor, for math-heavy tasks.

None of the new generation iPhones will have 5G but next year's models are expected to get a 5G modem as well as rear-facing 3D cameras for augmented reality.

Looking at the other devices in Apple's lineup, Bloomberg predicts upgrades to the 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pros with better cameras and faster processors, a new low-end iPad with a 10.2-inch display and the discontinuation of the 9.7-inch iPad display.

This year's upgrades to Apple Watch will be minor with new case finishes of ceramic and titanium expected. Apple is working on new, more expensive, AirPods that include water resistance and noise cancellation. These will likely launch next year. A cheaper HomePod is in the works for next year as well. It's said to feature two tweeters instead of seven.

Finally, as widely rumored, Bloomberg says Apple is planning a new MacBook Pro with a display larger than 16-inches diagonally. The bezels are slimmer so the laptop will be close to the current 15-inch MacBook Pro in size.
