Apple is planning to announce numerous software updates next week at the company's Worldwide Developers Conference, reports Bloomberg. There's also a chance Apple could use the event to preview its much anticipated Mac Pro.

With watchOS 6, Apple is expected to reduce the Apple Watch's reliance on the iPhone. The smartwatch will get its own App Store, new apps like calculator and voice recorder, as well as additional messaging features.

The iPad will also get some updates to improve functionality with enhancements to the home screen and new features for using multiple apps at once. Developers will gain tools to help port iPad apps to macOS. It's believed that eventually one app binary may be able to run on all iOS and macOS devices.

Apple will likely update some of its core apps including Reminders and Health. Tweaks are also expected for Maps, Messages, Apple Books, Home, and Mail. Find My iPhone and Find My Friends are being merged into a single app called Find My.

Notably, Apple may be getting ready to end iTunes. The company will unveil new Music, TV, and Podcasts apps for macOS. Users will be able to manage their devices through the Music app without needing to use iTunes. Check out some leaked screenshots here.

Finally, it's said that Apple will continue its push into monitoring your health, including how loud the environment is and how loud you're playing music on your headphones. It's reportedly working on more comprehensive menstrual cycle tracking on iPhone and new menstrual cycle tracking and pill reminder apps for Apple Watch. There's also a new Sleep mode for mobile devices and better hearing aid support.

Apple's WWDC 2019 keynote is scheduled for June 3rd. Please follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, or RSS for the latest coverage!
