Amazon's new Echo Link and Echo Link Amp are now available to purchase.
When used with an Echo device the Echo Link lets you stream music from Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music and other services in superior hi-fi sound. It also accepts RCA, Coaxial, and Optical audio inputs and has RCA, Subwoofer, Coaxial, and Optical outputs.
Echo Link's built in DAC offers much better audio quality than connecting to an Echo Dot directly.
While Echo Dot includes a 3.5mm jack for analog output, Echo Link offers multiple outputs – lossless optical and coaxial digital, RCA stereo, subwoofer, and a hi-fi amplified headphone jack. Echo Link has a high performance DAC that delivers a significantly higher signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and dynamic range through its analog outputs than Echo Dot. Additionally, Echo Link includes analog and digital inputs that allow you to use Alexa to control the volume of an input source, including automatically lowering the volume when you talk to Alexa.
If you don't already have a receiver as part of your audio system, you might want to consider the Echo Link Amp.
Echo Link Amp easily connects to your speakers—bookshelf, tower, in-wall, in-ceiling, or outdoor. The inputs and outputs provide compatibility with your existing audio equipment, so you can play music from your favorite source on the system you already love—and it's designed to fit in an audio rack.
The Echo Link Amp is a 2 channel Class D Digital Amplifier outputting 60W at 8 Ohms.
Pricing and Availability:
Both devices are now available. You can purchase the Echo Link for $199.99 and the Echo Link Amp for $299.99.
