Apple has started to offer 30 second samples of songs on their web-based iTunes Preview.
In November, Apple quietly launched iTunes Preview, a preview for those iTunes links that used to just open the application. Previously, when linking to a song or album in iTunes your browser would open a blank page and prompt you to open the link with the iTunes application.
Now, Apple is finally using QuickTime to offer 30 second song samples encoded in 44.1 AAC 300+ kbits/second.
