Apple is planning to launch three OLED iPhone models in 2020 which will have different display sizes than its current generation devices, reports DigiTimes.

The 2020 models will allegedly be available in 5.42-inch, 6.06-inch, and 6.67-inch screen sizes. Apple plans to keep the existing 5.8-inch, 6.1-inch, and 6.5-inch sizes for the iPhones that will be released later this year.

The 5.42-inch model to be released in 2020 may come with either Samsung Display's Y-Octa or LG Display's TOE touch technology, indicated the sources, noting that both touch solutions promises to trim down the display cost. Y-Octa is an advanced flexible AMOLED display technology that removes the film substrate and allows the touch circuit to be directly patterned on the film's encapsulation layer, making the display thinner, indicated the sources.

It's believed that Samsung Display will remain the primary supplier of OLED panels to Apple in 2020 although LG Display and BOE Technology are likely trying to land orders as well.

DigiTimes estimates that Apple will ship 80-82 million iPhones in the first half of 2019 and 180-190 million units for the year.
