References to new iPad Pro models have begun to appear in app analytics, reports MacRumors.
Appsee, a mobile app analytics platform, spotted the following model identifiers in its device logs beginning in August: iPad8,1; iPad 8,2; iPad8,3; iPad 8,4; iPad 8,5; and iPad 8,8.
This coincides with models numbers recently published by 9to5Mac.
The model codes for the Wi-Fi models of the 2018 iPad Pro will be iPad8,1, iPad8,2, iPad8,5 and iPad8,6. Meanwhile, the cellular-capable models will be iPad8,3, iPad8,4 and iPad8,7 and iPad8,8.
Appsee has not spotted iPad8,6 or iPad8,7 sessions in its analytics; however, it's likely those models exist as well. More interestingly, Appsee's logs indicate that the new iPad Pro models have the same display resolutions as the current 10.5-inch and 12.9-inch models. If Apple drops the Home button as widely rumored, the company could either shrink the size of the device and keep the same display or increase the size of the display keeping similar external dimensions.
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has predicts that Apple will increase the display size of the 10.5-inch iPad to 11 inches.
We're expecting Apple to announce a late October event at which it will announce new tablets. You can follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, or RSS for updates.
