Apple has posted a support document detailing how dual SIM support will work on the new iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max.

You can use two cellular plans with your iPhone Xs or iPhone Xs Max, a nano-SIM, and an eSIM. An eSIM is a digital SIM that allows you to activate a cellular plan from your carrier without having to use a physical nano-SIM. Here's how to set up and use a cellular plan using an eSIM.

Dual SIM Uses:
● Use one number for business and another number for personal calls.
● Add a local data plan when you travel outside of the country.
● Have separate voice and data plans.

Apple notes that both of your phone numbers can make and receive voice calls and send and receive SMS and MMS. This uses Dual SIM Dual Standby technology. So if you are on a call with one SIM, a call to the other SIM will go to voicemail.

Details on how to set up your cellular plan with eSIM can be found at the link below. Please note that support for the feature will not be live until an update later this year.
