Posted September 1, 2018 at 2:31am by iClarified
Apple has announced an iPhone 8 logic board replacement program to address a problem that can prevent a device from powering on or cause unexpected restarts and freezing.
Apple has determined that a very small percentage of iPhone 8 devices contain logic boards with a manufacturing defect. Affected devices may experience unexpected restarts, a frozen screen, or won't turn on. Apple will repair eligible devices, free of charge.
Affected units were sold between September 2017 and March 2018 in Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Macau, New Zealand, and the U.S.
You can check if your iPhone 8 is eligible for repair by entering your serial number at the link below. This program does not affect iPhone 8 Plus models or other iPhone models.
If your device is eligible you can get it repaired at an Apple Authorized Service Provider, an Apple Retail Store, or by mailing it in to the Apple Repair Center.
