A new report from UDN claims that next year's flagship iPhone will have a triple-lens rear camera.
The upgraded camera would purportedly have a 6P lens design, take 12MP photos, and feature 5X (presumably optical) zoom. Currently, the iPhone X has a dual-lens camera with 2X optical zoom that takes 12MP photos. The wide angle lens has a ƒ/1.8 aperture and the telephoto lens has a ƒ/2.4 aperture.
Apple has typically introduced significant improvements to the iPhone's camera with each redesign so it's plausible that the company is considering a triple-lens rear camera. Huawei's P20 Pro smartphone features the world's first Leica Triple Camera with a 20MP Monochrome lens, a 40MP RGB lens, and a 8MP Telephoto lens. With the triple-lens camera, the HUAWEI P20 Pro can achieve 5X Hybrid Zoom.
