Apple released firmware updates for its lineup of AirPort and Time Capsule devices today that patch vulnerabilities used by the KRACK exploit.
Discovered by security researcher Mathy Vanhoef, the method of using key reinstallation attacks (KRACKs) allow attackers to read information that was previously assumed to be safely encrypted and steal sensitive information such as credit card numbers, passwords, chat messages, emails, photos, and so on.

Back in October, Apple patched the WPA2 Wi-Fi KRACK exploit in iOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS.
It's strongly recommended that you update your base stations as soon as possible. AirPort Base Station Firmware Update 7.7.9 is for 802.11ac devices and AirPort Base Station Firmware Update 7.6.9 is for 802.11.n devices. You can update your firmware via AirPort Utility app.
