Foxconn has shipped out the first batch of iPhone X devices, reports Xinhuanet via DigiTimes.
According to the site, the initial batch of 46,500 units shipped out from Zhengzhou and Shanghai to the Netherlands and United Arab Emirates (UAE), respectively.
The number of units is much lower than shipped for the first batch of previous iPhone models, suggesting that as rumored, the iPhone X will be in extremely short supply.
Last week, Rosenblatt analyst Jun Zhang said that iPhone X production had increased to 400K units per week from just 100K units per week.
The iPhone X will be available to pre-order of October 27th and be released on November 3rd. Please follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, or RSS for updates.
Probably these iPhones aren't meant for normal customers, maybe wealthy people and the like. Let them be the early adopters, and deal with possible bugs for us, then we get the improved model a few months later ;)
Lucky people I guess. I think both the 8 and 8 plus will be more valuable in a couple years since it was the last one of its kind and of course the iPhone X even more than now since it is the first of its kind. But that’s just my opinion. If i could, I would just purchase both models because they’ll be very pricey collectibles I’m sure.
Looks like even if you wanted an iPhone X you probably won’t get one. Not enough units. If they skipped the 8 models, the production from that could have been used for the X.
