The iPhone 8 and its new A11 Bionic processor is faster than any of its competitors and even some laptops.
Tom's Lab says, "We've put this chip to the test in both synthetic benchmarks and some real-world speed trials, and it obliterates every Android phone we tested."
The iPhone 8 Plus is 59% faster than the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 scoring 10,472 in Geekbench 4, compared to just 6,564 for the Note 8. That score is even more impressive when you consider that the 13-inch i5 MacBook Pro scores 9,213 and the Dell XPS scores 7,159.
Results were similar for graphics. The iPhone 8 Plus again comes out on top with a 3DMark score of 64,412 compared to the Note 8 with 39,834.
To demonstrate how significant this speed difference is, Tom's Lab measured the time it took to export a 2 minute 4K video. The iPhone 8 did it in 42 seconds. The Galaxy Note 8 took 3 minutes and 3 seconds and the S8 took even longer at 4 minutes and 7 seconds.
