Check out this iPhone 8 concept with a double notch shared by developer Steve Troughton-Smith.

Apple does like symmetry. If it weren't for the iPhone glyph I might even suggest that the home button could look identical to the notch. A notch on the top, and a notch on the bottom. But I'm against blacking out the home button area entirely, personally

Why the hell is Apple trying to recreate the home button instead of 'stealing' the concept of the amazing activator, is beyond me... We don't need ugly-ass notches on the screen, all can be done with gestures, menus, actions, etc.
