New iPhone predictions from a recent KGI Securities research note have been shared by MacRumors.
Earlier today we posted 10 predictions from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo including that the new iPhone 8 will not have Touch ID. However, there's a few tidbits that weren't covered in that report.
Kuo believes the iPhone 7s, iPhone 7s Plus, and iPhone 8 will adopt glass bodies with metal frames to facilitate WPC-standard wireless charging (Qi). Apple will allegedly make an optional wireless charging accessory available for purchase. If this is the case, then the iPhones will feature inductive charging rather than true wireless charging.
Contradicting a Barclays report, Kuo says that the iPhone 8 will ship with the same 5W power adapter having a USB-A port, despite gaining an embedded USB-C power delivery iC for higher charging efficiency.
Finally, Kuo says that the DRAM transfer speed of the memory in the new iPhones will be 10-15% faster for better AR performance.
