Apple CEO Tim Cook has dropped from #8 to #53 on Glassdoor's list of highest rated CEOs by employees. Notably, Apple ranks #36 in the list of top places to work.
The rankings are determined using feedback employees have shared on Glassdoor throughout the past year. Employees complete an anonymous company review that captures their overall job and company satisfaction, as well as qualitative insights into the best reasons to work at their company, along with what needs improvement. Glassdoor applies a proprietary algorithm to each award category which considers the quality, quantity, and consistency of reviews.
Topping the list of Highest Rated CEOs for U.S. Large Companies for 2017 is Clorox CEO Benno Dorer with a 99% approval rating. Dorer’s achievement marks a number of firsts for the Highest Rated CEOs award — the first time Dorer has received this award, the first time that a consumer goods company has secured the top position, and the first time that Glassdoor’s U.S. Large Companies Highest Rated CEOs list has expanded to include 100 CEOs, making Dorer’s accomplishment especially noteworthy. Employees cite Dorer’s focus on professional development, transparency, and his vision for the company as some of the top reasons he excels as a CEO.
Previously, Cook had been increasing in the rankings moving from up from #18 in 2013 to #8 in 2016.
