Check out this hands-on video with an alleged iPhone 8 case posted by Macotakara.
The site notes that the case is slightly wider and taller than the iPhone 7.
I tried putting iPhone 7 in the case which is supposed to be for iPhone 8. When aligning the bottom side, there are some gaps at the left and right ends, and a lot of clearance is made at the upper part. Moreover, there is thickness.
As we've seen in dummy models and schematics, the iPhone 8 power on/off button is slightly lower.
For the case that is supposed to be for iPhone 8, it seems that the position of the power on / off button is down by one level because the iSight cameras are aligned vertically. However, as this is going down, if you hold it on your right hand, your thumb will just arrive on the Sleep / Wake button.
The site also believes the distance between the volume buttons and mute switch is slightly different on the alleged case.
