Apple's self-driving car has been spotted on the 101 North in Palo Alto, California by MacRumors reader Andrew.

The company has been testing its autonomous driving solution using three Lexus RX450h SUVs. Apple was recently granted a permit to test self-driving vehicles by the California DMV. It's test vehicles are equipped with a Logitech wheel and pedals to actuate drive by wire. On the outside, the SUVs have been equipped with numerous sensors including Velodyne Lidar Inc.'s top-of-the-range 64-channel lidar, at least two radar and a series of cameras.

Apple is said to have shifted to a stronger focus on self-driving technology after Bob Mansfield was put in charge of its car efforts. The company also has dozens of engineers working on a car OS in Canada, and will reportedly decide on a final direction for its vehicle endeavors by fall of this year.
